Shoes for Children

What We Do:

We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, all volunteer organization!

We collect used, not abused, shoes and soccer balls to distribute to children worldwide - Africa, Haiti, Dominican Republic and the United States. View our gallery of previous shipments to South Dakota, Botswana, and Tanzania.

Tanzania, Africa (February 2017)
How excited we all are! Over 2,500 pairs of great shoes again have arrived at our supported school in Tanzania.
Children who have so very little are those who receive these free shoes, again donated by friends in America. Going to school in Tanzania requires shoes to be worn, and many families cannot afford this expense. So along with good, safe foot wear comes the opportunity for their continuing education...a real blessing for everyone.
Also included in this shipment were 200 pairs of men's used/usable leather shoes which go to graduate students who must dress in professional/business attire at school...again so much needed and also always free from our foundation.
Thank you to our mission partners:
York High School, Elmhurst, IL; Elmhurst Park District, Courts;
Christ Church, Oak Brook, IL; Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Project; and Elmhurst Photo, 535 Spring Road, Elmhurst, IL - our permanent drop off location throughout the year.

(Winter 2016/17)

Richard, family and friends,

We go through the shoes pretty fast.  People are always receptive.  Now that we have developed a reputation of having shoes, people come to us looking for shoes.  We do our best but it is not possible to have what everyone is looking for.  Your gift of shoes no matter that they are used are truly a gift to those who need them.

... neither of us were able to get pictures for you but be assured that there are many people in this community who have covering on their feet because of your help. Pilamaya!

Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year

From Rich Rosenberg, Chairman:

The mission of helping others still remains simple and yet profound.  What can you do with unwanted but usable shoes? Simple give them to us, take a tax donation, and we will put them on some very deserving and needy feet.............. free.  And not in a landfill.

Rich Rosenberg   Chairman   Soles for Kids......Soles for Africa

So it's up to all of us. Simply collect children's shoes that no longer fit
or are out of fashion, but still have lots of life, and get them to our collection site at 535 Spring Road in Elmhurst...we 'll do all the rest.

Making a difference in the life of a child has never been simpler.
